What does QEI mean?
QEI stands for Qualified Elevator Inspector. This is a special certification process that our inspectors have gone through. It requires certain education, experience and exam requirements that are as listed in ASME QEI-1 Standard for the Qualification of Elevator Inspectors.
How long is my inspection certificate valid for?
Certificates are valid for 1-year, unless you have received a conditional certificate due to a violation. Conditional certificates are only valid for 90-days, and the work to fix the violation must be completed by your maintenance company within the 90-day period in order to receive an operational certificate.

What is an inspection registration sticker?
These proof of inspection stickers are required by the State of Vermont and need to be affixed to the certificate of operation, or conditional certificate of operation, by an elevator inspector after the inspection of the conveyance has been completed as authorization of that inspection. All current certificates need to be posted in or on the conveyance at all times.
